Description

25Q32 is 32M-bit Serial Flash Memory.

1. Memory Organization: The memory is organized in a serial manner, which means data is accessed and written one bit at a time in a sequential order. Serial flash memories are commonly used when space and pin count are limited, and when data transfer rates are not critical.

2. Flash Memory Technology: Flash memory is a type of non-volatile memory that retains data even when power is removed. It is commonly used in various electronic devices for storing firmware, configuration data, and other types of data that need to be retained when the power is off.

The W25Q80 (8M-bit), W25Q16 (16M-bit), and W25Q32 (32M-bit) Serial Flash memories provide a storage solution for systems with limited space, pins and power. The 25Q series offers flexibility and performance well beyond ordinary Serial Flash devices. They are ideal for code shadowing to RAM, executing code directly from Dual/Quad SPI (XIP) and storing voice, text and data. The devices operate on a single 2.7V to 3.6V power supply with current consumption as low as 5mA active and 1µA for power-down. All devices are offered in space-saving packages.

Flexible Architecture with 4KB sectors :

1. Uniform Sector Erase (4K-bytes)

2. Block Erase (32K and 64K-bytes)

3. Program one to 256 bytes

4. Up to 100,000 erase/write cycles

5. 20-year data retention

25Q16 pinout memory

The SPI Chip Select (/CS) pin enables and disables device operation. When /CS is high the device is
deselected and the Serial Data Output (DO, or IO0, IO1, IO2, IO3) pins are at high impedance. When
deselected, the devices power consumption will be at standby levels unless an internal erase, program
or status register cycle is in progress.
