Description

The OV4689 is 1/3″ color CMOS 4 megapixel (2688 x 1520) image sensor.

The term “4-megapixel” indicates the resolution of the image sensor, which is determined by the total number of pixels it contains. In this case, a 4-megapixel sensor would have a resolution of approximately 4 million pixels (2,048 x 2,048 or similar dimensions). Higher megapixel counts generally result in higher image resolutions and the ability to capture more fine details.

Color CMOS image sensors use an array of light-sensitive pixels, typically consisting of red, green, and blue (RGB) color filters. Each pixel measures the intensity of the incoming light for each color channel, and this information is then processed to generate a full-color image.
