The Allen-Bradley SLC500 is a small chassis-based family of programmable controllers,
discrete, analog, and specialty I/O, and peripheral devices. The SLC 500 family delivers
power and flexibility with a wide range of communication configurations, features, and
memory options. The RSLogix 500 ladder logic programming package provides flexible
editors, point-and-click I/O configuration, and a powerful database editor, as well as
diagnostic and troubleshooting tools to help you save project development time and
maximize productivity.

Our Bulletin 1747 SLC™ 500 control platform is used for a wide variety of applications. Rockwell Automation has announced that some SLC 500 Bulletin numbers are discontinued and no longer available for sale. Customers are encouraged to migrate to our newer CompactLogix™ 5370 or 5380 control platforms.


1. Ladder-logic and structured-text programming

2. Advanced instruction set including file handling, sequencer, diagnostic, shift register, immediate I/O, and program control instructions

3. Built-in RS-232/422/423 communication port

4. DeviceNet and ControlNet I/O on selected processors

5. One or more on-board ports that can be configured for either Data Highway Plus™ (DH+) or
Universal Remote I/O

6. Universal Remote I/O ports can be configured as an I/O scanner port or an I/O adapter port

7. Ethernet PLC-5® controllers and the Ethernet interface module (1785-ENET) provide built-in web services
