The TP4055 is a complete single-cell Li-ion battery charger with reverse battery polarity protection and constant current/constant voltage linear control. Its SOT package and low external component count make the TP-4055 ideal for portable applications. TP4055 can work with USB power and adapter power.
External sense resistors and blocking diodes are not required due to the internal PMOSFET architecture, coupled with a reverse charge protection circuit. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the die temperature during high power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The full voltage is fixed at 4.2V, while the charge current can be set externally with a resistor. When the battery reaches 4.2V, the charging current drops to 1/10 of the set value, and the TP4055 will automatically terminate the charging.
