MAC15-10FP Datasheet PDF – 800V, Thyristor – Motorola

This is a power triac, which is a type of electronic switch used for controlling AC power. It has a maximum RMS on-state current rating of 15A and a maximum blocking voltage rating of 600V.

When a small voltage is applied to the gate terminal, the triac switches on and allows current to flow through the load. The MAC15-10FP triac is commonly used in a variety of applications such as lighting controls, motor controls, and heating controls.

Function: 800V, Triac / Silicon Bidirectional Thyristor / 15A Amperes RMS

Package: Case 221C-02 Type

Manufacturer: Motorola ( Freescale )

Description

MAC15-10FP designed primarily for full-wave ac control applications, such as solid-state relays, motorcontrols, heating controls and power supplies; or wherever full-wave silicon gate controlled solid-state devices are needed. Triac type thyristors switch from a blockingto a conducting state for eitherpolarity of applied anode voltage with positive or negative gate triggering.

Thyristors have three or four layers of alternating p-type and n-type semiconductor material and are typically triggered into operation by a small current applied to the gate terminal.

Once triggered, the thyristor remains in the “on” state until the current flowing through the device is interrupted or the voltage across the device falls below a certain level.
