Description
An offline SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) primary switcher refers to a power supply circuit or IC that operates directly from the AC mains input (offline) and serves as the primary-side switcher in the SMPS topology. The primary switcher is responsible for regulating the energy flow from the input to the output of the power supply.
The primary switcher in an offline SMPS typically uses a high-voltage power transistor or a MOSFET (Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Field-Effect Transistor) to perform the switching operation. It operates at high frequencies to minimize the size and weight of the transformer and other passive components.
The VIPER22A combines a dedicated current mode PWM controller with a high voltage Power
