6N138 Datasheet – Darlington Optocoupler (Photodetector)

Part Number: 6N138

Function: LOW INPUT CURRENT HIGH GAIN SPLIT DARLINGTON OPTOCOUPLER

Package: DIP 8 Pin Type

Manufacturer: Fairchild Semiconductor

Pinouts:

6N138 datasheet

Description

The 6N138 / 6N139 and HCPL2730/HCPL2731 optocouplers consist of an AlGaAs LED optically coupled to a high gain split darlington photodetector. The split darlington configuration separating the input photodiode and the first stage gain from the output transistor permits lower output saturation voltage and higher speed operation than possible with conventional darlington phototransistor optocoupler. In the dual channel devices, HCPL2730/HCPL2731, an integrated emitter-base resistor provides superior stability over temperature.

The combination of a very low input current of 0.5mA and a high current transfer ratio of 2000% makes this family particularly useful for input interface to MOS, CMOS, LSTTL and EIA RS232C, while output compatibility is ensured to CMOS as well as high fan-out TTL
requirements. An internal noise shield provides exceptional common mode rejection of 10 kV/µs.

Features

1. Low current – 0.5mA

2. Superior CTR-2000%

3. Superior CMR-10kV/µs

4. CTR guaranteed 0–70°C

5. Dual Channel – HCPL2730, HCPL2731

Applications:

1. Digital logic ground isolation

2. Telephone ring detector

3. EIA-RS-232C line receiver

4. High common mode noise line receiver

IL55B Datasheet PDF – Optocoupler, Photodarlington – Vishay

Part Number: IL55B

Function: Optocoupler, Photodarlington Output, High Gain

Package: DIP 6 Pin

Manufacturer: Vishay Semiconductors

Pinouts:

IL55B datasheet

Description

The IL5xB and MOC8021 are optically coupled isolators with a gallium arsenide infrared LED and a silicon photodarlington sensor. Switching can be achieved while maintaining a high degree of isolation between driving and load circuits. These optocouplers can be used to replace reed and mercury relays with advan tages of long life, high speed switching and elimination of magnetic fields.

Features
1. High collector-emitter breakdown voltage, 80 Vminimum
2. High isolation resistance, 10(11)Ω typical
3. Standard plastic DIP Package
4. No base terminal connection for improved common mode interface immunity
5. Lead-free component

Absolute Maximum Ratings

1. Input
Peak reverse voltage : VR = 3.0 V
Forward continuous current : IF = 60 mA
