NE555 Datasheet – 555 Timer IC, 8 Pin – Philips

Part Number: NE555

Description

Timer IC

Package: DIP 8 Pin Type

Manufacturer: Philips

Pinout

NE555

Features

• Turn-off time less than 2 µs
• Max. operating frequency greater than 500 kHz
• Timing from microseconds to hours
• Operates in both astable and monostable modes
• High output current
• Adjustable duty cycle
• TTL compatible
• Temperature stability of 0.005% per °C

Description

The NE555 monolithic timing circuit is a highly stable controller capable of producing accurate time delays, or oscillation. In the time delay mode of operation, the time is precisely controlled by one external resistor and capacitor. For a stable operation as an oscillator, the free running frequency and the duty cycle are both accurately controlled with two external resistors and one capacitor. The circuit may be triggered and reset on falling waveforms, and the output structure can source or sink up to 200 mA.

NE556N datasheet

Description

This is Dual Precison Timer.

These devices provide two independent timing circuits of the NA555, NE555, SA555, or SE555 type in each package. These circuits can be operated in the astable or the monostable mode with external resistor-capacitor (RC) timing control. The basic timing provided by the RC time constant can be controlled actively by modulating the bias of the control-voltage input.

Features

1. Two Precision Timing Circuits Per Package
2. Astable or Monostable Operation
3. TTL-Compatible Output Can Sink or Source up to 150 mA
4. Active Pullup or Pulldown
5. Designed to Be Interchangeable With Signetics NE556, SA556, and SE556
