Description

Glass passivated triacs in a plastic envelope, intended for use in applications requiring high bidirectional transient and blocking voltage capability and high thermal cycling performance. Typical applications include motor control, industrial and domestic lighting, heating and static switching.

Semihow’s sensitive TRIAC product is a glass passivated device, has a low gate trigger current, high stability in gate trigger current to variation of operating temperature and high off state voltage. It is generally suitable for power and phase control in ac application.

Description

Available either in through-hole or surface mount packages, the BTA12, BTB12 and T12xx Triac series are suitable for general purpose mains power AC switching. They can be used as ON/OFF function in applications such as static relays, heating regulation or induction motor starting circuit. They are also recommended for phase control operations in light dimmers and appliance motors speed controllers.

Applications:

The Snubberless versions (BTA/BTB…W and T12 series) are especially recommended for use on inductive loads, because of their high commutation performance. The BTA series provide an insulated tab (rated at 2500 VRMS).
