Description
The EL7L is a high power GaAs IRED mounted In a clear plastic package. With lensed package, this small device has narrow beam angle.
An infrared emitting diode (IR LED) is a type of LED that emits infrared radiation, which is a type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than those of visible light. IR LEDs are used in a variety of applications where the emission of IR radiation is required, such as in remote controls, security systems, motion sensors, and medical equipment.
Like other LEDs, an IR LED is a semiconductor device that emits light when a current is passed through it. However, unlike visible LEDs, which emit light in the visible spectrum, IR LEDs emit light in the infrared spectrum. IR LEDs typically emit light at wavelengths between 700 nanometers (nm) and 1 millimeter (mm), which is beyond the range of human vision.
