Description
NAS1097 Flush Shear Rivets are more commonly referred to in maintenance circles as “oops” rivets because it’s just what you need when you accidentally make your rivet hole too big. Their smaller head diameters are exactly the same as an AN426 flush rivet that is one size smaller. So just drill to the next larger size, then use one of these rivets and no one will be any the wiser.
The 3/32″ diameter rivets are also perfect for installing nutplates as the smaller head virtually eliminates the need for countersinking. Just use a hole deburing tool to clean the edges for a perfectly flush installation. 1 lbs (0.5Kg) shipping weight.
NAS-1097 is a specification in the aerospace industry that refers to a specific type of countersunk machine screw. The “NAS” in NAS1097 stands for “National Aerospace Standard,” which is a system of standards and specifications developed for use in the design and manufacturing of aerospace equipment and components.
NAS-1097 screws are designed with specific dimensions, materials, and thread configurations to meet the requirements of aerospace applications. These screws are commonly used in the construction and assembly of aircraft, spacecraft, and related equipment where precision, reliability, and safety are critical.
