Description

The SN54LS192, 74LS192 is an UP/DOWN BCD Decade (8421) Counter and the SN54LS193, 74LS193 is an UP/DOWN MODULO-16 Binary Counter. Separate CountUp and Count Down Clocks are used and in either counting mode the circuits operate synchronously. The outputs change state synchronous with the LOW-to-HIGH transitions on the clock inputs.

Features

1. Low Power : 95 mW Typical Dissipation
2. High Speed : 40 MHz Typical Count Frequency
3. Synchronous Counting
4. Asynchronous Master Reset and Parallel Load
5. Individual Preset Inputs
6. Cascading Circuitry Internally Provided
7. Input Clamp Diodes Limit High Speed Termination Effects

What is Binary UP/Down Counter?

A binary up/down counter is an electronic circuit that counts binary numbers either up or down, depending on the direction selected by a control signal. Each flip-flop represents a single bit of the binary number, and the state of the flip-flops determines the value of the binary number. In a binary up/down counter, the counter can be incremented or decremented by one for each clock pulse, depending on the direction selected by the control signal.
