What is LM358? Dual Operational Amplifier

What is LM358?

This is a dual operational amplifier (op-amp) integrated circuit (IC) that is widely used in electronic circuits for its versatile functionality. It contains two independent op-amps, each with a high gain, low input offset voltage, and a wide supply voltage range.

Op-amps are fundamental building blocks in electronic circuits and are used for a variety of functions, such as amplification, filtering, and signal conditioning. It’s low power consumption, wide voltage range, and ease of use make it a popular choice for many circuit designs.

Description

The LM2904, LM358, LM358A, LM258, LM258A consist of two independent, high gain, internally frequency compensated operational amplifiers which were designed specifically to operate froma single power supply over a wide range of voltage. Operation from split power supplies is also possible and the low power supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the power supply voltage.

Application areas include transducer amplifier, DC gain blocks and all the conventional OP-AMP circuits which now can be easily implemented in single power supply systems.
