Description

The BCM43362 single-chip device provides the highest level of integration for mobile and handheld systems, featuring integrated IEEE 802.11b/g and handheld device class 802.11n.

It includes a 2.4GHZ WLAN CMOS power amplifier (PA) that meets the output power requirements of most handheld systems. An optional low-noise amplifier (LNA) and external PA are also supported.
Along with the integrated power amplifier, the BCM43362 also includes integrated transmit and receive baluns, further reducing the overall solution cost. Host interface options include SDIO v2.0 that can operate in 4b or 1b modes, and a generic gSPI mode.

The BCM43362 addresses the needs of highly mobile devices that require minimal power consumption and compact size. It includes a power management unit that simplifies the system power topology and allows for operation directly from a rechargeable mobile platform battery while maximizing battery life.

Features

The Ethernet Switch controller performs the majority of the switch functions of the AR9331. The controller contains five 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet ports, each containing four levels of Quality of Service, 802.1Q VLANs, port based VLANs and RMON statistic counters. The AR9331 integrates five 10/100 two speed Ethernet transceivers (PHYs) and one single port 10/100/1000 media access controllers (MAC) as well as a wire-speed, non-blocking shared memory switch fabric.
