Description:

A push-pull four-channel driver, also known as a quad push-pull driver, is an electronic circuit or integrated circuit (IC) designed to drive multiple output channels in a push-pull configuration. It is commonly used in audio amplifiers and other applications where multiple signals need to be amplified and delivered to corresponding output devices.

The push-pull configuration consists of two complementary output stages, typically one NPN (negative-positive-negative) and one PNP (positive-negative-positive) transistor. Each output stage is responsible for amplifying and driving one half of the audio waveform. When one transistor is conducting, the other is in a non-conducting state, allowing for efficient amplification and improved output signal quality.

The Device is a monolithic integrated high voltage, high current four channel driver designed to accept standard DTL or TTL logic levels and drive inductive loads (such as relays solenoides, DC and stepping motors) and switching power transistors.

To simplify use as two bridges each pair of channels is equipped with an enable input. A separate supply input is provided for the logic, allowing operation at a lower voltage and internal clamp diodes are included.

This device is suitable for use in switching applications at frequencies up to 5 kHz.

Features

1. 600mA OUTPUT CURRENT CAPABILITY PER CHANNEL
2. 1.2A PEAK OUTPUT CURRENT (non repetitive) PER CHANNEL
3. ENABLE FACILITY
4. OVERTEMPERATURE PROTECTION
5. LOGICAL “0” INPUT VOLTAGE UP TO 1.5 V (HIGH NOISE IMMUNITY)
6. INTERNAL CLAMP DIODES

This type of driver is commonly used in multi-channel audio amplifiers found in home theater systems, car audio systems, professional audio equipment, and other applications where multiple channels need to be amplified and controlled independently. It allows for precise control and amplification of each channel’s signal, resulting in accurate reproduction and improved audio performance.

IR2125 datasheet

Description
The IR2125(S) is a high voltage, high speed power MOSFET and IGBT driver with over-current limiting protection circuitry. Proprietary HVIC and latch immune CMOS technologies enable ruggedized monolithic construction. Logic inputs are compatible with standard CMOS or LSTTL outputs, down to 2.5V logic. The output driver features a high pulse currentbuffer stage designed for minimum driver cross-conduction. The protection circuitry detects over-current in the driven power transistor and limits the gate drive voltage. Cycle by cycle shutdown is programmed by an external capacitor which directly controls the time interval between detection of the over-current limiting conditions and latched shutdown. The floating channel can be used to drive an N-channel power MOSFET or IGBT in the high or low side configuration which operates up to 500 volts.

Features
• Floating channel designed for bootstrap operation Fully operational to +500V Tolerant to negative transient voltage dV/dt immune
• Gate drive supply range from 12 to 18V
• Undervoltage lockout
• Current detection and limiting loop to limit driven power transistor current
• Error lead indicates fault conditions and programs shutdown time
• Output in phase with input
• 2.5V, 5V and 15V input logic compatible
• Also available LEAD-Free
