What is 2SC5200?

The 2SC5200 has a maximum collector current rating of 30A and a maximum collector-emitter voltage rating of 230V. It also has a high gain value, typically in the range of 80 to 100, which makes it suitable for use in low-frequency power amplifier circuits. In audio amplifier circuits, this IC is used in the output stage to provide high power to drive speakers.

It also features a built-in diode for protection against reverse voltage and is designed to be used in a complementary pair with its PNP counterpart, the 2SA1943.

Features

1. Recommended for 100W High Fidelity Audio Frequency Amplifier Output Stage.

2. Complementary to UTC 2SA1943

2SC5200 vs 2N3055?

The 2SC5200 is a higher power and higher gain transistor that is suitable for use in high-power audio amplifier circuits and other high-frequency applications. The 2N3055, on the other hand, is a slower transistor that may be more suitable for lower power applications.

1. Power handling:

The 2SC5200 has a higher power handling capability than the 2N3055. The 2SC5200 can handle a maximum collector current of 30A and a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 230V, while the 2N3055 has a maximum collector current of 15A and a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 60V.

2. Gain:

The 2SC5200 has a higher gain value than the 2N3055. The typical gain of the 2SC5200 is in the range of 80 to 100, while the typical gain of the 2N3055 is in the range of 20 to 70.

3. Speed:

The 2N3055 is a slower transistor compared to the 2SC5200. The 2N3055 has a slower switching speed and may not be suitable for high-frequency applications, while the 2SC5200 is designed for use in high-frequency power amplifier circuits.
